Transport for NSW’s Rail Maintenance facility on the NSW Central Coast uses eMesh as one of the innovative initiatives.

Rail Maintenance

John Holland, the contractor responsible for the design and construction of the maintenance facility on behalf of TfNSW trialled eMesh and succesfully used it to construct footpaths, islands and medians.
Some of the key benefits of using eMesh are:

DESIGN
RMS 53 compliant
Superior crack management
Flexibility in shape of pavements
Greater flexibility of joint location
Corrosion free reinforcement
Longer life span of concrete pavements
Potential to eliminate earthing & bonding issues

CONSTRUCTION
Faster application (applied in the concrete mix at the batch plant)
Safer (no requirement to lay steel reinforcement)

ECONOMIC
20% cost reduction
Eliminates requirement to procure steel reinforcement and labour to install it
To learn about more benefits of using eMesh, read the Case Study: Efficient Materials Use as part of John Holland’s 2019 Sustainability Report.
